Board Meetings and Minutes
The MIP Board of Directors meets on a monthly basis from September through June of each academic year. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month from 8:00-9:30 PM on Zoom. The Board is comprised of the following member-elected positions: President, President-elect or Past-President, 2-4 representatives from the following constituencies: Membership, Faculty, Graduate, Candidate and Post Graduate Fellowship (one from the adult program and one from the Stechler program). The President of the Board with board approval appoints the Secretary, Treasurer, and two additional Board-appointed representatives, generally from outside of the institute. In the past, these extra positions have been lawyers, consultants, community members, representatives from other academic organizations, or people who bring diversity to the board. The Executive Director is also in attendance.
Attendance at the monthly Board meetings is required of the elected and appointed members of the Board and strongly encouraged of the Co-Chairs from each of the MIP Committees. In addition, Board meetings are open to the entire general membership of MIP. Board minutes are posted below for review.
Task Force Reports
In addition to monthly Board meetings as a form of high-level institutional communication, the Board often appoints Board or general members to sit on Task Forces that aim to address varied topics of interest or concern relating to the Institute’s functioning and development. Task Forces can range from 3-10 members who are typically volunteers or nominated by the President.
