PROVIDING REFLECTIVE SUPPORT FOR ORGANIZATIONS

MIP is currently offering consultations to organizations most directly affected by the current political landscape, including clergy, attorneys, teachers, university faculty and staff, individuals in the medical field, and federal employees.

Consultations are confidential and provided at little to no cost. We aim to think together with and provide support to groups who may feel vulnerable and overwhelmed. We are not considering these consultations as psychotherapy. Rather, we will facilitate a space for groups to process the impact of the Administration’s Executive Orders on their workplace and collaborate with them in thinking about useful ways to respond.

Potential Foci for Consultations Might Include:

  • Conflicts between loyalty to an institution’s core values and concern both for the institution’s self-preservation and the employees’ own financial security.

  • Divisions among colleagues about how to respond to the federal administration’s Executive Orders

  • General feelings of anxiety and stress, sometimes emerging in unwelcome ways, e.g. as anger at family or friends

  • “Compassion fatigue” or vicarious trauma

Why Now?

We understand this is a moment of deep concern. Many workers are fearful for their livelihoods. Undocumented individuals face uncertainty about their future. Institutions are grappling with how to uphold their values while ensuring their survival. Civil rights and democratic norms are under threat.

In this context, space to think, reflect, and connect is a vital resource. We would like to offer it.
