Listservs

MIP has several listservs: a referral listserv to send and receive referral requests, MIPSpace for community discussion and announcements, and a listserv for candidates. Email info@mipboston.org to OPT-IN to the listservs.

Email lists and other organization listservs should be treated as public places and in terms of privacy - are not secure. Note that you can unsubscribe at any time from these listservs. I always suggest checking your junk mail occasionally as messages can land there if the sender is unknown. Email me and let me know if you WANT to be in either listserv group.

MIP Referrals (mip-referrals@googlegroups.com)

When requesting referrals the best way to protect the patient's confidentiality is to describe the characteristics of the clinician rather than the patient (for example - Seeking a family therapist with Alzheimer's experience for referral in Boston). More specific information can then be offered to a potential analyst or therapist in a private email or phone call.

MIPSpace (mipspace@googlegroups.com)

This listserv acts as a bulletin board to post announcements about conferences and presentations, publications of books and articles, and recommendations for resources i.e. legal services, groups, billing questions etc. It will be most useful if entries are brief: not more than 2 lines - unless you are attaching a flyer for a program. This listserv is not meant to be used as a chat room, a place for political debate or to address personal issues.
